Research Review: Equine Lumbar Pain Control with 448kHz Radiofrequency

In 2018, Snyder investigated how lumbar pain in horses could be treated with INDIBA Radiofrequency. It was noted that whilst INDIBA is well known within human rehabilitation, there was a gap in knowledge in the equine world dealing with the use of INDIBA for pain relief in horses. Therefore the objective of this study was to assess the effect and effectiveness on pain of INDIBA Radiofrequency as well as its safety in use on horses.

Three horses were used in the study, all suffering from lumbar back pain of varying degrees. INDIBA Radiofrequency Therapy was applied twice weekly, and following this treatment programme all horses showed reduced lumbar pain, by as much as 95%, and with no side effects.

The results of this study therefore suggested that INDIBA Radiofrequency is very effective in reducing lumbar pain in competition horses.
